UFC214 – Jon ‘Bones’ Jones Slays Daniel Cormier With A TKO

We’re still out of breath watching that legendary fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier!

Saturday, the Honda Center, Anaheim, California. Two great fighters faced each other in the UFC214, a rematch for the pair that turned out to be the ultimate fight in which Jones won and was crowned the new light heavyweight champion. It only took three rounds, as the third one ended in Jones’s final blow to Cormier’s head and led to his massive defeat.

According to 38 year-old Cormier it all ended way too fast: :I thought the fight was going well, I don’t even know what happened,” said the kickboxing captain. During the first two rounds “DC” gave Jones a hard time with some heavy punching combinations that left Jones with mainly lower body kicks. Up until that third round when Cormier ducked straight into that powerful kick that got him right in the head.

This epic fight was the result of about two years of preparation for 30 year-old Jones who was involved in a cocaine scandal and other rundowns with the law before: “It feels unbelievable, it’s a surreal moment. I know it hasn’t been easy to root for me. I love you guys so much.”

After the win, Jones made it clear he has higher and ‘heavier’ aspirations for the future when he turned to call out WWE star Brock Lesnar saying: “Lesnar, if you want to know what it’s like to get your {butt} kicked by a guy who weighs 40 pounds less than you, meet me in the Octagon,”

And so we have a new champion! Jon Jones claimed once again the UFC light heavyweight belt and we’re definitely rooting for him, now and for future fights.

Our conclusion? always try to stay away from drugs and focus on professional MMA 🙂
